The Locanda was born from an idea of Gianfranco Elampini and opened in 2007. Together with chef Diego Donatelli, who in the meantime has become the owner, he created a menu that reinterprets the traditional Veronese cuisine in a modern way, including fish dishes, with careful selection of seasonal products. The result is an interesting combination of Diego’s expertise with fish cuisine and its Veronese origins.
The place is cozy and warm, consisting of several spacious rooms, and a special vaulted ceiling set in stone. The garden is open for aperitifs and buffets. The wine list includes their own labels of Valpolicella wines, Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso and Amarone of the Vigna ‘800 winery by Gianfranco Elampini, as well as other wine producers from the Valpolicella.
